The Arteon was designed to serve as the successor to the elegant CC model. It was supposed to combine stylish design, great driving dynamics, capable engines and comfort and it did exactly that. However, the only model that combines all these features at the highest level is the most powerful 2.0 TSI version which produces whopping 280 hp and 350 Nm of torque. That one has 4MOTION AWD, it is paired with a 7-speed DSG and it gives the Arteon the performance that separates it from most of its competitors. 2018 Volkswagen Arteon Tuning

This particular car we tuned is a 2018 Volkswagen Arteon, but the same results can be obtained in the 2017 and 2019 models. The process included adding a meticulously tested and in-house developed tuning box that enables the 2.0 TSI tuning at the level not possible before.

This particular engine comes with a turbocharger and intercooler and that means that its torque comes very low in the RPM range, starting from just 1700 RPM and going all the way to 5600, where the top power rating takes over and pushes with top force all the way to 6500 RPM.

This kind of a setup allows the Arteon to enjoy smooth acceleration and wonderful response throughout the rev range.

VW Arteon 2.0 TSI Tuning Box

There are three steps in tuning the 2.0 TSI and they result in three distinctive improvements.

The changes include an increase in turbo pressure, adjustment in fuel delivery and ignition timing. The increase in turbo pressure sends more air into the engine. In a petrol engine especially, the air-fuel ratio has to be as close to perfect as possible, so the added amounts of air have to be followed by more fuel. This is the second adjustment that comes from the tuning box. These two adjustments have to be designed to complement each other in every condition and throughout the RPM range. This is why our extensive testing procedure plays a major role in providing an unprecedented mix of power and safety at the same time. Just these two combined result in the power increase mentioned previously.

However, the third adjustment adds a lot to the driving feel. It is consisted of advancing ignition timing. The advance results in a more immediate throttle response. It allows you to make better use of the added power and greatly improves the feeling when you press the pedal. The 2.0 TSI engine reacts immediately and pushes the Arteon with confidence.

It is very important to note that the level of ignition timing advancement has to be carefully measured and that fuel quality also plays a role. Advancing the timing too much can cause serious damage to the engine, so our development and testing procedures are paramount.
